Making Things In Charlotte, NC

Hi, I’m Joel.

After spending over a decade in science and technology education, I’ve turned my focus on using digital fabrication to make things.

What started as a bit of an obsession stoked by science fiction and science facts accidentally became a full time dream job. I blame Cory Doctorow (a little).

Additive manufacturing and CAD are are my methods of choice. Often the goal is a 3D printed object. Sometimes, 3D printing is a means to an end.

Here’s what’s important:

  • If I don’t think I can do it right, I won’t take your job.

  • If we’re not having fun we aren’t doing it right.

  • Push for the Democratization of Fabrication, Agency for Everyone, and the recognition that The World is Malleable.

Little Things

Small custom items like keychains, fridge magnets, and pins can be produced from existing art. We don’t start with a template, we start with your brand.

Weird Things

I love collaborating on unexpected projects. If you want my help turning your idea into a physical, holdable, throwable, showable, foldable, durable, fashionable, or otherwise real object contact me to get the ball rolling.
